Tyler Robbins is a Michigan-based luthier whose work combines acoustic research, precise craftsmanship, and a distinctly contemporary design language. After studying at the Galloup School of Guitar Building and Repair, he completed an intensive apprenticeship under Bryan Galloup and Sam Guidry, gaining experience in instrument construction, repair, research and development, teaching, and CNC production.
Robbins approaches guitar making as both an art and an applied science. Through material testing and data analysis, he studies the acoustic properties of each component and adapts the construction and voicing of every guitar accordingly. His instruments are known for their responsiveness, clarity, dynamic range, and carefully balanced tonal character.
Every Tyler Robbins guitar is created as a one-of-a-kind instrument rather than a repetition of a fixed visual formula. Sculpted bevels, geometric rosettes, flowing body contours, one-of-a-kind inlays, tonewoods, and contrasting natural materials are newly composed for each build, giving every guitar its own individual identity. The result is an instrument in which sound, ergonomics, and modern design are developed as a single, unified concept.
