Golden-era inspired steel-strings with vintage tone and old-world craftsmanship
Andrea Bagnasco and Alessio Casati began building guitars together in 1995 in Savona, Italy. Their work is inspired by the celebrated American steel-string guitars of the 1920s through the 1940s, particularly pre-war Martin designs and Gibson instruments from the Banner era.
Years of restoring and studying original vintage guitars have given Bagnasco & Casati a direct understanding of their construction, materials, weight, and tonal character. Rather than simply copying dimensions, they draw upon hands-on experience with the original instruments to recreate the responsiveness, strong fundamentals, clarity, and open voice associated with exceptional Golden Era guitars.
Each guitar is built using carefully selected materials and traditional methods, including moon-logged, air-dried European spruce, hot hide-glue construction, period-correct neck reinforcement, celluloid appointments, and pure nitrocellulose lacquer. From OMs and 12-fret models to dreadnoughts, J-45s, Southern Jumbos, and Advanced Jumbos, Bagnasco & Casati preserve the tone, feel, and craftsmanship of the finest vintage American acoustics.
