This Special Edition draws its visual language from the early-1930s OM-45, one of the most refined expressions of Martin’s original Orchestra Model. The traditional Style 45 vocabulary includes abalone purfling around the soundboard, back and sides, an abalone rosette, ornate fingerboard inlays, and the distinctive torch-inlaid headstock associated with the period. Bagnasco & Casati build on that historical foundation with moon-logged, air-dried Alpine spruce and Brazilian rosewood, using the traditional methods central to their vintage recreations: all-hide-glue construction, a dovetail neck joint, non-adjustable neck reinforcement, and an exceptionally thin pure nitrocellulose finish. For this Special Edition, the early Style 45 presentation is expanded with an abalone center backstrip and additional abalone purfling along the fingerboard, creating a continuous line of ornamentation from the body through the neck. A custom deep-body configuration gives this OM greater internal air volume than the standard body depth. The design is intended to broaden the low-end foundation and add depth and headroom while preserving the clarity, balance, and precise response expected from a long-scale OM. Richly appointed but structurally rooted in B&C’s historically faithful approach, this Special Edition combines early-1930s Style 45 elegance with a fuller and more expansive interpretation of the classic Orchestra Model.
