The 1933 OM-18 represents the mature final phase of Martin’s original Orchestra Model era. It retained the long 25.4-inch scale, 14-fret body, wide 1 3/4-inch nut and bar-fret construction, but by this point the early transitional details had evolved: the belly bridge was established, conventional right-angle tuners had replaced the early banjo machines, the pickguard had grown to its familiar form and the Martin script logo appeared on the front of the headstock. Bagnasco & Casati’s 1933 recreation captures the OM after those details had settled into their mature form, pairing Adirondack spruce with Honduran mahogany.
