Handcrafted steel-strings blending Celtic warmth with American clarity
Ciarán McNally made his first guitar at the age of sixteen before studying at the Lagan Lutherie School in Belfast and earning a diploma in Musical Instruments from London Metropolitan University. He later worked as a Senior Craftsman at George Lowden Guitars and as Production Manager at Atkin Guitars, gaining experience across the production of thousands of high-end instruments before becoming an independent luthier in 2020.
Handcrafted in Armagh, Northern Ireland, McNally Guitars bring together two distinct steel-string traditions. American-inspired body shapes and strong fundamental clarity are combined with the warmth, sustain, and tonal complexity associated with Celtic guitar making, creating versatile instruments suited to a wide range of players and musical styles.
McNally combines traditional handcraft with modern tools and production methods, choosing the most effective approach for each stage of the build. From compact Parlour and S models to the versatile OM, powerful Dreadnought, and complex, dynamic Jumbo, each guitar can be individually configured in collaboration with its future owner.
