Modern fingerstyle steel-strings with clarity and carved-wood artistry
Ryan Gerber began building guitars in 2010 and has worked professionally as a steel-string guitar maker since 2012. From his workshop in Canton, Ohio, he continues to refine his craft with a simple guiding principle: to make every instrument better than the one before it.
Gerber’s original RL-series body designs range from compact, intimate instruments to larger guitars with greater power and headroom. Built with hide-glue soundboard construction, reinforced mahogany necks, laminated sides, and carefully selected tonewoods, his guitars are known for their responsive, clear, and harmonically rich voices—qualities particularly suited to modern fingerstyle playing.
His instruments are equally distinguished by their visual details. Hand-carved and faceted wooden rosettes, sculpted armrests, cutaways, soundports, and carefully coordinated natural materials give each guitar an individual identity while preserving a clean and contemporary aesthetic.
