Brondel Guitars

Handcrafted electrics with acoustic sensitivity, vintage soul and dynamic response

Born in Paris, Laurent Brondel spent nearly two decades as a professional musician before turning fully to lutherie. He also worked as a sound engineer and electronic musician, and his search for the ideal guitar led him to collect, restore, and resell numerous vintage instruments. After moving to the United States and working for a period at Bourgeois Guitars, he established his own workshop in rural Maine.

Brondel brings the sensitivity and tonewood knowledge of an acoustic luthier to his electric guitars. Neck angle, pickup placement, body weight, finish thickness, and individual pieces of wood are carefully considered to achieve dynamic response, clarity, resonance, and an immediate connection between the instrument and the player. Every guitar is shaped, finished, and set up by Laurent himself.

The Honeycaster, Burn, and limited New Vintage instruments reinterpret familiar electric-guitar traditions through Brondel’s distinctive design and one-at-a-time approach. His New Vintage builds pair original bodies with carefully selected vintage necks, pickups, or electronics, while the wider electric range combines classic character with the precision, balance, and playability of a contemporary handmade instrument.
